Everyone who purchases a ticket online gets a free t-shirt, bag lunch and a drink!!
The Remembrance Walk and Horse Trail Ride is for all ages and fitness levels. Participants do not need to be a horse owner or have a horse to attend the event- there will be plenty of walkers. Shadow Serenity does ask attendees to refrain from bringing other animals to the event in effort to not spook or disturb the horses.
“This event enables us to help more people in our community find hope in the face of struggle. By coming onto our farm and working with our therapy horses, our participants get a break from their “disease” and emerge themselves in the benefits of horsemanship. The impact is profound”, says co-founder Jamie Kay Weil.
Shadow Serenity was founded in 2014, by Debbie Newman and Jamie Kay-Weil, after Newman discovered how incredibly healing her horse, Shadow, was in helping her face the difficult diagnosis of Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. Shadow Serenity’s programs provide participants who are facing cancer or other illnesses the opportunity to bond with the horses, develop a sense of responsibility and learn valuable skills all while improving physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. The entire program is available for free to all in need.
As Shadow Serenity operates solely on donations, this fundraiser event allows Shadow Serenity to continue the healing magic of horsemanship to those who need support through their difficult journey.
“This Remembrance Walk and Trail Ride is in honor of Debbie and the initiative she took to make sure that all program participants received the help she did during the rough days of her illness. Shadow gave her a reason to get out of bed and our horses continue to inspire others who need them. All funds raised go to care for the animals and make sure our outreach can continue”, says Kay-Weil.
Please come by before the event and preview our facilities and program. Owners, trainers, and animals will be on hand to show how Shadow Serenity is helping people with this no-cost equine therapeutic program. Shadow Serenity is located at 6117 94th Ave, Pinellas Park, FL 33782.
