The law firm of Sessums Black Caballero Ficarrotta PA begins 2017 with a new name, the return of its founding member, and a new named partner. But while some things are changing at the firm, what isn’t changing is the high quality of marital and family law that has been practiced at this firm for the past 35 years.
The new name represents two major changes – the first is the return of founding member Stephen Sessums to the firm, who retired a few years ago but recently decided to return to the practice. The second is the addition of Jennifer Ficarrotta as a named partner.
The firm was founded by Stephen Sessums in 1982, with the intent to practice exclusively in the area of marital and family law. As the firm grew over the years, this focus on marital and family law never wavered, and today the firm is known throughout Florida as a leader in this practice area.
“Steve’s legacy in family law is unparalleled and we are thrilled that he is rejoining the firm,” said Caroline Black Sikorske, a partner at Sessums Black Caballero Ficarrotta.
The other new name that makes up Sessums Black Caballero Ficarrotta is Jennifer Ficarrotta. Jennifer joined the firm in 2011, became a partner in 2013 and has now become a named partner. Jennifer is board certified in Marital and Family Law by The Florida Bar and has received numerous awards and recognitions, including being listed in Florida Trend’s “Florida Legal Elite” and being named among “Florida’s Super Lawyers.” While an accomplished litigator, Jennifer is also trained in Interdisciplinary Collaborative Law.
“Jennifer’s intellect and professionalism are two of the many reasons her name deserves to be on the wall,” said Sikorske. “Our tradition of excellence continues.”
For 35 years, the attorneys at Sessums Black Caballero Ficarrotta have been devoted exclusively to the practice of marital and family law. This includes a wide range of matters including dissolution of marriage, parenting plans, paternity, premarital agreements, cohabitation agreements, support modification and enforcement actions, all tort actions arising out of the marriage of the parties and the appeal of any of these actions. The firm represents clients in all areas of Florida and assists lawyers in other states on Florida law-related dissolution matters.
