• 260 Middle & High School Students from Polk County to Tour High-Tech Manufacturing Sites for National MFG Day/Month in Florida

    image001 copyStarting October 1, as part of Manufacturing Day in Florida, 260 students from 11 middle & high schools in Polk County will tour eight high-tech manufacturing sites. Polk County is set to issue countywide proclamation for Manufacturing Day on Oct. 2. Outlined below are the industry tours that have been scheduled for Polk County.

    The Made in Florida industry tours are made possible by FLATE (Florida Advanced Technological Education), the Florida-based National Science Foundation Center of Excellence in partnership with the Manufacturers Association of Florida, Florida TRADE, and Regional Manufacturing Associations across the state which includes Career Pathways at Polk State College. The tours celebrate high-tech manufacturers across Florida, and are geared to educate and expand students’, educators’, parents’ and the community’s knowledge about STEM-based, high-tech careers & educational pathways in manufacturing in Polk County & across Florida.
